QUT Online has launched six weeks after the announcement that OES had been selected by QUT as its partner to develop a suite of online postgraduate courses.

OES was chosen by the university to enable it to increase its online offering at scale and provide fast entry to a new market.

OES CEO Denice Pitt said: “We’re delighted to partner with QUT to combine our strengths in innovation and pedagogical models to deliver an exceptional experience for students looking to access the university’s programs beyond its campus walls.”

20,000 Queensland online learners have enrolled in courses in universities in other states in the last 12 months, demonstrating the demand in northern Australia for flexible education.

QUT Vice-Chancellor Professor Margaret Sheil AO said: “QUT Online will offer an alternative to prospective students who would otherwise not consider QUT as a tertiary higher education provider because of geography or life circumstances.

“By partnering with OES, we can increase our online offering at scale and provide the learning flexibility required by busy professionals wishing to enhance their qualifications.”

OES has worked with QUT to offer students four teaching periods a year, providing additional flexibility and the option to complete some programs in just 18 months.

“By partnering with OES, we can increase our online offering at scale and provide the learning flexibility required by busy professionals wishing to enhance their qualifications.”

The initial range of postgraduate options includes graduate certificates, diplomas and masters degrees in the following areas:

  • Health Management
  • Project Management
  • Financial Planning
  • Education

Professor Sheil said these courses would leverage QUT’s established expertise in leadership and management education.

“Many of today’s students are looking for access to high quality learning and control over when and where they study – these courses will provide QUT excellence without borders.”
