Every role at OES contributes to delivering high quality, positive experiences to students, from the moment they start researching study options to the successful completion of their qualification. Our dedicated Student Experience and Insights team works to continually identify and develop opportunities to improve the student journey, in collaboration with our partners.
As a Student Experience Lead, Sarah drives this collaborative process – both within OES and with our university partners.
“I help develop the strategy behind a variety of interventions that support students to progress through their course and achieve their education and career goals,” Sarah explains. “We take an evidence-based approach when measuring the success of our interventions, considering both the student retention impact that it’s had as well as the overall student experience”.
An evidenced-based approach
Sarah joined OES in 2018, bringing extensive online program management experience to her role. She particularly enjoys how OES applies evidence, experience and empathy to put students at the heart of its strategic thinking.
With more than a decade of experience collecting, analysing and acting on learning analytics, OES has rich insights to share with partners.
“We use our data and experience to unearth opportunities for partners, including key trends and challenges throughout the student journey. We then recommend innovations that are tailored to their requirements, utilising all of our solutions as needed.”
Collaboration drives innovation
The Student Experience and Insights team works closely with OES’s experts across all solutions. “This ensures we bring best practice thinking to every program or innovation,” Sarah says.
The goal is always to deliver progressive and positive online educational experiences that build lasting connections between students and their universities.
“We work closely with partners to establish an industry-leading approach that stays true to their academic values while also meeting students’ needs. As a team, we constantly monitor student engagement and outcomes and refine our solutions when needed.”
Passionate about her work
“We take an agile approach to what we do at OES,” highlights Sarah. “This works great considering there are so many moving parts to our interventions; research, design, testing, evaluation and feedback.”
Sarah is currently working with a new partner in the onboarding phase and is loving the opportunity to explore different approaches.
“We have access to some great minds at OES and there’s always opportunity to step up and grow,” she says. “I love OES’s evidence-based approach to all it does, including its hiring process. OES has managed to select driven and talented people who are also down to earth – what more could you ask for?”
