Security Operations Analyst

The Opportunity

The Security Operations Analyst role will work closely with the IT Operations team and greater IT Team to monitor and report on the OES technical landscape.

Supporting the day-to-day management of IT security operations across the business, including leading the discovery, investigation, and diagnosis of vulnerabilities generated by users or automated systems, providing direction and best industry procedures to the team to remediate.

The position will be focused on driving continuous improvement in information security management, security operational processes and procedures within OES. Furthermore, the role will be key to developing best practices, operational excellence, and proactive information security intelligence processes.

 

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Microsoft SC Certifications (SC-900 Microsoft Security Fundamentals/SC-200 Microsoft Security Operations Analyst) or a related or relevant certification/degree (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) are highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in cyber security analysis, incident response, and vulnerability management.
  • Solid understanding of network protocols, firewall technologies, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Strong knowledge of current cyber threats, attack vectors, and mitigation strategies.
  • Experienced with security threat and vulnerability assessments, SIEM concepts and principles, software development life cycle, and dynamic code testing.
  • Familiarity with information security management frameworks, such as ISO/IEC 27001, and NIST, and their practical implementation.
  • Have a hands-on technical background across range of network, system and application architectures.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills and demonstrated effectiveness in a customer-facing role.
